Education

As a Fellow of the Winston Churchill Memorial Trust he is committed to Music Education and in particular creating opportunities for young people who do not have the chance to learn a musical instrument. The Trust will enable him to visit the Venezuelan Music Education System (El Sistema) which has proved that music changes lives. Over quarter of a million young people learn music for free in Venezuela, the social benefits of music making transcending any other activity.

Jerry Clack was a music scholar at Tonbridge School in Kent. He continued his musical education at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama Junior Dept and graduated with BMus hons from the Royal Academy of Music in 2001. During his time at the RAM Jerry was also awarded the LRAM teaching diploma and after graduating was also awarded a Craxton Award and a Sir James Caird Travelling Scholarship which enabled him to further his study in Europe.

Jerry is a fully qualified teacher and is a visiting brass teacher at Tonbridge School. He has also taught and lectured at the Guildhall School of Music and Drama’s Junior Dept and has coached on a number of youth music courses. He has been actively involved in the Dynamic Music Training Courses and has been closely involved in the Music Outreach group “Pitch and Rhythm”.
